Technovation is the world’s largest and longest running tech competition for girls. In Technovation, teams of young
women identify a problem, inforce algorithmic thinking and emphasize the societal impact of information and technology.
It also teaches girls life skills such as how to identify a problem, design and test a solution, collaborate with a team, and
communicate to different audiences.
The goal of Technovation Ethiopia is to establish school level Technovation clubs. Since the event is conducted annually,
students and mentors/teachers will be recruited from these Tehcnovation clubs. This approach will ensure the development of a
critical mass of tech students and teachers making the sustainability of the program inevitable. Program evaluation will be
conducted annually and curriculum related recommendations will be formulated for students and teachers.

don’t have a place to learn how these technologies that affect all of us work.

The AI Family Challenge is a program bringing families, schools, communities, and technology leaders
together to give everyone the chance to learn, play and create with artificial intelligence. Families with
children aged 8-15 learn and work together using AI technology and tools to solve problems in their

Machine to bring this competition to Ethiopia for the first time. Selected students will learn the concepts
of AI and design their own problem solving robot and showcase it internationally.
